Everyone who has a web site will need to use an FTP program at some point. There are free applications and paid applications, but the free applications are just as good (in some cases even better!) than the paid ones. Take a look at FileZilla for windows, this is free FTP application that does what it says on the tin, transfers your files effectively.

Filezilla is a free FTP  (file transfer protocol) that enables you to upload and download files from your hosting account. We also have an online facility built into all hosting accounts for this so you have the choice of two now!
